So i've got this great, powerful, new com (see: my definition). It's fairly quick, slim, full touch screen, with a really nice feel to it. Only problem is that it's running some pretty sluggish phone software! I say "phone software" because the Samsung Dialer, Windows Mobile Contact management/listing is not quite designed for a full touchscreen scenario. So i'm thinking to myself, "okay, do i drop 350 on an HTC Touch Pro?" Ugh. No. Search for software. I can't be the only person with this point of view. After a few registry hacks that didn't suit me, and some software that only offered merely half of what I really wanted in terms of functionality, and presentation, i thought it was time to fly the white flag. I happened upon a discussion about dialer mods and UI replacements, and saw some screenshots from a dialer/contacts manager called PhonEX. This dialer UI replacement is engineered by a firm called Icon Soft. I've created a rundown for any that are finding this post while searching for a touch-friendly dialer, or are interested in a fresh new look. Check out my video below:
